Unscrew the moka pot and remove the filter in the middle. Fill the filter basket to the top with your ground coffee before tapping the sides to even out the grounds. Do not press the coffee down; leave it loose.

Carefully place the filter basket of coffee inside the bottom chamber of the moka pot, then grab a towel to hold while you securely screw the top back on. Ensure it’s not too loose or too tight; make sure you feel the purchase of the rubber seal.

Step 4: Brew, cool and pour

Step 4: Brew, cool and pour

Place your moka pot onto the heated stove and wait for the coffee to flow between chambers, until you hear it start to gargle – you don’t want a hissing sound. Then, take it off the heat and run your moka pot under cold water to stop it brewing. Pour your coffee and drink it on its own, or add milk to taste.
